I have over 20 years experience of working in public relations and communications roles in the public sector. I am also a trained coach and experienced trainer. I am also an accredited NLP Practitioner.
Having worked as Head of Communications at Haringey Council, managing media relations during the Climbie Inquiry, I know about managing difficult media and internal issues. My most recent role was at the Royal College of Physicians where I successfully helped its 22,000 members deal with the changes such as new national training for doctors and reduced working hours introduced by the EU.
I have also worked as an interim manager at the Independent Police Complaints Commission - launching the new national police complaints body - and the Dept of Health, managing their £400,000 programme of public research.
I was a director at DTW Public Relations, specialising in strategic public relations, crisis management, health and central government communications. My clients ranged from individual health trusts to bodies such as the National Patients Safety Agency. My work has been nationally recognised with awards from the Market Research Society and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
I also write pony novels... but that's another story.
